Day 135: Cuenca, Ecuador
Getting to Cuenca involved a long and exhausting eight-hour bus ride from Banos and the next day we were all still tired from traveling. Everyone told me we should go to Cuenca but I didn’t know much about the city other than it had 52 churches, one for every Sunday.
Fortunately my family shares my lukewarm love of churches and everyone was content to admire them as we walked by on our way to other destinations.
None of us are big church goers so we did what any tourist would do, we tried on hats that we had no intention of buying and took photos so we’d remember it. It was much more fun than looking at 52 churches.

Lovely photos! I had to pass up a trip to Ecuador this month–for, of all things, dental surgery, ugh!–and am super bummed! But there will be other opportunities, I’m sure… For now I’ll live vicariously through you!
