Moloka’i, Hawaii

Getting organized for the mule ride down to Kalaupapa we discovered it was one of the rider’s birthdays.

This song is so much better than the traditional Happy Birthday song.

Disclosure: I was a guest of the Moloka’i Visitors Bureau, they did not request that I write a favourable review or decide that I want to learn how to play the ukelele.

Me too Ron, but the Ukelele must better be there!

Beautiful! And the mule ride sounds like fun, too 🙂

  5. A Cook Not Mad (Nat) says:

I’ll have to get Tim to learn that one on the ukulele 😉

Now I feel like me having happy birthday sung to me by a group of strapping young men while me wearing a moose helmet with antlers isn’t as cool! This is so COOL!

    1. Ayngelina says:

Ha, yours is still cool 🙂

  8. I love the sound of the ukelele and its prevalence in Hawaii. That’s a beautiful song.

    1. Ayngelina says:

Me too, did you know it is actually Portugese?

  11. Bootiful. We should all learn the ukelele… and I really do hope that was you going “woo!” in the background Ayngelina?! x

    1. Ayngelina Author says:

MMmmm I`m not really a woo kinda girl 😉

  12. Ava Apollo says:

They almost forgot the names of the birthday people! That was close! I suppose I’m still impressed though. I lack any musical talent!

    1. Ayngelina Author says:

Me too, I`m so tone deaf.

  13. Stephanie - The Travel Chica says:

I met an American girl traveling with a ukelele in Costa Rica. She learned to play it when she lived in Hawaii. You might want to pick one up before you leave.

    1. Ayngelina Author says:

I am terribly unmusical but I may give it a shot.

  14. Sebastian says:

Loving the song!!! I wish I could play Ukelele!

  15. This is so great!!! 🙂

  16. Beautiful. And good singers too!

    1. Ayngelina Author says:

And maybe a bit easier to sing than the regular HBD song.

  17. I’m so glad you were able to take the Mule ride. I have always wanted to do that. It sounds like you had an amazing trip to the islands.

  18. This is the best. 😀 I always thought the Mexican Birthday song was much better than ours but *this* just kills it! 😀 Love it.
